job summary: A Designer is needed for a utility holding company in the Phillips, WI area. This role is responsible for designing electric utility distribution systems. The position involves a mix of office-based CAD/GIS work and field assessments to plan infrastructure like poles and cables for new and existing customers. Location and Type
Location: Phillips, Wisconsin Job type: Contract Salary: $21.81 - 30.97 per hour Work hours: 8am to 5pm Education: Associate degree Responsibilities
Create and revise technical sketches, working drawings, and contract documents using SmallWorld GIS or manual drafting. Prepare 2D and 3D models based on project engineering and architectural specifications. Design electric distribution projects for new and existing residential and commercial customers. Conduct field assessments to determine pole placement, underground cable routing, and transformer sizing. Manage projects from initial customer interaction through to the completion of construction documents. Utilize SAP to monitor and manage new customer contacts and project status. Interpret data sheets, supplier specifications, and engineering blueprints. Develop bills of material, project schedules, and formal drawing transmittals. Collaborate with technical services staff and participate in weekly scheduling and team touchpoint meetings. Qualifications and Skills
Experience level: Experienced Education: Associate Strong communication (verbal and written) Organizational and project management skills Basic electrical knowledge or background Familiarity with Microsoft Office GIS or AutoCAD experience Electrical or utility background Skills
