Premier, boutique, national, high-stakes litigation and public interest law firm is seeking a Business Development and Marketing Manager to generate, implement, and support a broad range of firm and attorney marketing and business development activities across three offices: New York, Washington, D.C., and Los Angeles.

Responsibilities

Work closely with the Director of Business Development and Marketing to advance a proactive marketing and business development program that supports strategic objectives and aligns with firm objectives.

Support the tracking and execution of individual business development plans, ensuring key milestones are clearly defined and aligned with the firm’s strategic goals.

Partner with the Director to develop customized, compelling pitch materials and RFP responses tailored to specific client opportunities.

Develop and maintain marketing collateral, website content, practice descriptions, attorney bios, and other client-facing materials; ensure all content is regularly reviewed and updated to reflect current capabilities and priorities.

Conduct strategic research on prospective clients, market trends, competitors, and practice developments to generate actionable insights and support targeted efforts.

Maintain and monitor business development activity through the firm’s CRM platform, ensuring accurate data capture, reporting, and adoption across the firm.

Lead the preparation and submission of legal directories and industry awards, including Chambers, Legal 500, Benchmark Litigation, and other industry recognitions and awards.

Oversee department projects with clearly defined deliverables and resource requirements; track progress, communicate updates, and address roadblocks.

Support the team in managing the strategic and logistical aspects of lateral integration and onboarding to ensure a seamless transition and alignment with firm priorities.

Collaborate with the team on planning and execution of internal and external events, covering invitation list creation, collateral development, attendee tracking, on-site management, and follow-up strategies.

Identify, evaluate, and recommend external sponsorship and speaking opportunities that align with firm goals, enhancing visibility and market presence.

Other responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications The successful candidate will have a combination of employment, educational, and life experience that demonstrates the qualities and skills below:

Education and Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of previous law firm BD and marketing experience working with litigation teams is highly desirable. Bachelor’s degree required. J.D. or advanced degree a plus.

Knowledge and Skills: Basic understanding of CRM software platforms (hands-on experience with InterAction a plus). Familiarity with event planning procedures and details. Advanced knowledge and use of Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, web editing, and email marketing software.

Clear Communication and Attention to Detail: Outstanding written and oral communication skills; ability to develop strong relationships with attorneys and professionals at all levels. Proactive status updates and strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with high attention to detail.

Ownership, Initiative, and Teamwork: Self-starter who takes ownership of projects, follows through, anticipates and resolves obstacles, and demonstrates strong customer-service orientation; able to work well within a team and be a brand champion.

Organization and Project Management: Comfortable balancing tasks of varying urgency and complexity; able to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Flexibility: Available after hours and able to work overtime as needed. Comfortable with varying responsibilities and a collaborative, team-focused approach to prioritization.

Confidentiality: Able to adhere to firm policies regarding protection of confidential data and demonstrate sensitivity and good judgment with confidential matters.

Location and Schedule: Located in the New York, Washington, DC, or Los Angeles, CA area and available to work 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Hybrid position.

Additional Information: You must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by your hire date to be eligible for starting in the role.

Compensation:

The expected base salary for this role ranges from $125,000.00-$150,000.00, annually, plus bonus and is dependent on experience.
