Senior Communications Specialist
to lead communications efforts in support of growth and market positioning priorities for the BDS Vertical Lift (VL) and Space, Intelligence and Weapon Systems (SIWS) divisions. The role may be based in Arlington, VA; Mesa, AZ; Huntsville, AL; El Segundo, CA; or Ridley Park, PA. Reporting to the BDS Director of Communications for Business Development and Strategy (BD&S), this role will partner closely with the Vice Presidents of VL BD&S and SIWS BD&S and work with the VL and SIWS communications senior managers and specialists as an embedded member of both teams. Responsibilities
Develop, execute, and measure strategic integrated marketing communications plans in support of priority global (U.S. and international) sales campaigns for the Apache, Chinook and space and weapons programs.
Play a central role in domestic advocacy efforts and partner to develop strategic messaging, market positioning and communications and brand strategies to help capture next-generation opportunities in both divisions.
Collaborate day-to-day with domestic and international business development and communications teammates; partner with divisional, functional and global teams to develop and execute strategic communications plans; demonstrate planning effectiveness and measurable results.
Qualifications
Experience building and executing communications plans, including working on and off-the-record with media
Excellent writing skills, capable of producing top quality deliverables at pace with minimal rework or editing
Content creator mindset with a passion for innovation, aviation and storytelling; ability to identify, shape and execute compelling stories in a timely manner
Ability to navigate complex global political dynamics strategically, and to work on high-impact, high-visibility projects
Desire for learning, growth and helping the business succeed
Ability to build strong relationships with business partners and teammates; proven collaboration across global markets
Bachelor’s degree or higher
5+ years of experience influencing and building relationships with stakeholders and partners across teams
5+ years of experience with verbal and written communication, including spelling, grammar, punctuation, form and style, proofreading and editing
5+ years of experience in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines
5+ years of experience with Microsoft Office suite
Experience producing, writing and editing multiple deliverables (news releases, statements, RTQs, feature stories, speeches, videos, social media, etc.)
Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally as needed
Position Responsibilities
Lead or direct the design, development and deployment of communication plans and branding strategies that support enterprise and/or business unit goals and objectives
Partner with VL and SIWS communicators to identify objectives for trade shows
Oversee development of strategies and tactics that connect target audiences to objectives and goals with significant impact on Boeing business results, policies, or employee and/or leadership initiatives
Provide advanced expertise in identifying content and production resources and techniques for internal/external communications including co-marketing activities and channel strategies
Manage and plan the promotion of stories to key media and evaluate media inquiries about business unit activities, in partnership with External Communications
Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with influential contacts
Anticipate, plan and manage communications and branding around issues facing the enterprise and/or business unit

Summary pay range: $143,650 - $208,150.
