Overview
Cooley LLP has an associate opportunity available in the CFIUS, Trade Controls & Government Contracts practice of its Washington, DC office. Attorneys with two to six years of experience are encouraged to apply.
Qualifications
High level of academic achievement from a nationally recognized law school.
Experience or interest in work with the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) and the Outbound Investment Security Program (OISP).
Experience or willingness to develop expertise in government contracts, export control, and internal investigations.
Experience or interest in developing expertise in transactional support (i.e., M&A and structured investments).
Specific experience with government entities is especially of interest: the Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS); the Department of State’s Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC); the Department of Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC); and the Department of Defense’s Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA).

Compensation The expected annual pay range for this position is $235,000-$390,000. Please note that final offer amount will be dependent on geographic location, applicable experience and skillset of the candidate.
