Position Title
Digital Designer – Marketing & Communications

Position Summary
The Digital Designer is responsible for creating engaging digital assets that support Texas Tech University’s enrollment marketing efforts. The role involves designing website pages, social media graphics, email templates and short-form video content while maintaining brand consistency across multiple platforms.
Major/Essential Functions Craft data‑driven design assets (ad sets, landing pages, social media graphics).
Produce motion graphics and short‑form video cutdowns for social media advertising.
Edit existing video assets into high‑performing ad units.
Collaborate with marketing and content teams to align creative with audience insights and campaign goals.
Maintain brand consistency across static, motion and video assets while adapting to different audience segments and platforms.
Conduct user research, usability testing and heat‑mapping analysis to validate design decisions.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Proficient in Figma, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and other visual design tools.
Basic motion graphics experience using After Effects or similar tools.
Strong understanding of responsive design for desktop, tablet and mobile.
Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user‑system interaction.
Ability to iterate and refine designs based on feedback, data insights and testing outcomes.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross‑functional teams.
Knowledge of performance marketing metrics (A/B testing, analytics, design for performance‑driven campaigns).
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience totaling four years.
Preferred Qualifications Associate or bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual design or equivalent with 2–3 years of relevant experience.
2–3 years’ experience in online, social and digital design.
One year of experience with motion graphics.

Compensation
Hourly pay range: $23.08 – $30.63 per hour. Pay is commensurate with qualifications and budgetary guidelines.
Shift & Schedule
Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Day shift)
