ROLE OVERVIEW Gear Patrol (operators of GearPatrol.com and DPReview.com) is seeking a full-time Senior Video Content Producer to join our growing team.
The position is intended for versatile and resourceful multimedia content creators with experience in video production, podcasting and social media management. At its core, the role will involve creating video content to support the editorial and advertising goals of Gear Patrol’s portfolio brands. As a member of Gear Patrol’s platforms team, you’ll also support off-platform content management and community engagement efforts.
Achieving success in this position will require a mix of directing, producing, editing, and packaging video and audio content from Gear Patrol editorial staffers and freelance contributors across the country, as well as capturing original video and serving as a video host/brand talent where appropriate. Along with creating video and audio content, qualified candidates will also help oversee and optimize the distribution of content across our organic and paid channels to maximize engagement and exposure, including YouTube, popular social platforms, and Gear Patrol sites.
This role will report directly to the Director of Video and Platforms and will work closely with other editorial leaders, writers, creative team members, and members of the Gear Patrol sales and branded content team.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES VIDEO & MULTIMEDIA PRODUCTION RESPONSIBILITIES
End-to-End Production: Develop, script, produce, and edit ongoing video and audio content for organic and paid content distribution.
Build the Voice of the Brand:
In collaboration with our Director of Video and Platforms, act as on-screen talent for video content when necessary and interface with our community across owned and off-platform channels.
Cross Functional Collaboration : Serve as a trusted partner to our Editorial and Advertising teams when developing comprehensive video and audio content strategies, processes and workflows.
Creative Analysis:
Monitor data and metrics and stay connected to current social trends, innovations, and changes.
Creative Strategy:
Translate audience insights into actionable direction for the content we produce.
SOCIAL PLATFORM PUBLISHING RESPONSIBILITIES
Content Management:
Create and maintain platform-specific content production and publishing calendars and roadmaps in partnership with the Director of Video and Platforms for both organic and paid content.
Community Management:
Act as the first touch point for engaging with our community across channels with support from our Creative Team to ensure timely engagement with our content.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
You are a Producer and Creator who knows how to balance creativity with business outcomes.
You have at least 6+ years of experience developing video content for yourself, publishers, or DTC brands across YouTube, Meta platforms, and TikTok.
Experience producing, shooting, and editing both in studio and in the field, and can work as both a one-person band or on set with an ensemble.
A strong understanding of relevant social media best practices and successful video and audio formats, and can communicate these insights into actions and recommendations.
Proficiency with Adobe Suite, with a focus on Premier and After Effects, and can comfortably create basic motion graphics and packages from scratch or with direction from our Creative Team.
Proficiency in editing with in-app native social platforms, including but not limited to Capcut, YouTube Studio, and Reels.
A strong sense of judgment and discretion, particularly as it applies to determining brand-appropriate subjects and topics for video coverage.
The ability to multitask and perform well in a fast-paced and changing environment.
Conflict management skills to balance strategic needs with the solutions available while always maintaining a professional composure to ensure de-escalation.

The salary range for this position is $75-90K, depending on the candidate's experience.
