About the Role: As a member of the Product and Engineering team at PitchBook, you will join a group of passionate designers, engineers, and innovators focused on creating exceptional customer experiences for the private capital markets. As the Product Designer II, Design Systems, you will support the maintenance, documentation, and ongoing improvement of the PitchBook Product Design System. You will contribute to the accuracy, consistency, and usability of our Figma component libraries, ensuring designers and engineers have the tools they need to create cohesive, high-quality experiences across the PitchBook platform. You will work closely with the Senior Product Designer, Design Systems, and partner with the UI Kit engineering team to perform day-to-day updates, component refinements, audits, and documentation. You will also help streamline workflows, improve governance practices, and support system adoption across the design organization. This role is essential to keeping the design system healthy, scalable, and well-maintained—enabling our teams to deliver exceptional experiences more efficiently. Primary Job Responsibilities

Support the maintenance and organization of PitchBook’s Figma component libraries, ensuring components remain accurate, up to date, and easy to use Execute day-to-day component updates, refinements, and bug fixes that improve system quality and consistency Partner with the Senior Product Designer, Design Systems, and UI Kit engineering team to ensure alignment between Figma components and coded UI Kit components Assist in preparing system documentation—including usage guidelines, do’s/don’ts, accessibility notes, and token references Participate in the governance process by contributing to reviews, documenting decisions, and helping track proposed component updates or additions Conduct periodic audits of components, design tokens, and patterns to identify inconsistencies or gaps Support the creation of release notes, system announcements, and design system education materials Collaborate with product designers to understand system needs, collect feedback, and identify opportunities for system improvement Use AI-enabled tools to streamline documentation, component quality checks, and other recurring workflows Ensure system components and patterns reflect best practices in accessibility, usability, and design craftsmanship Contribute to the evolution of system processes, workflows, and internal tooling Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Centered Design, or equivalent experience. 4+ years of experience in Product or UX Design, with exposure to design systems, component libraries, or design operations. Proficiency in Figma, including components, variants, styles, auto layout, and library usage. Familiarity with design-to-code workflows; experience with Storybook, React, or CSS variables is a plus. Strong visual and interaction design skills with attention to detail, consistency, and accessibility. Experience creating or maintaining design documentation, guidelines, or usage notes. Willingness to dive into the operational details—audits, component cleanup, documentation updates, and system maintenance. Ability to collaborate effectively with designers, engineers, and cross-functional partners. Strong communication and organizational skills, including the ability to clearly articulate design decisions. Comfort using AI-assisted tools or a desire to learn how AI can accelerate design system workflows. Ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment. Experience with collaboration tools such as Figma, Lucid, Jira, and Confluence. Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite including in-depth knowledge of Outlook, Word and Excel with the ability to pick up new systems and software easily Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future Benefits + Compensation at PitchBook

Working Conditions

At the heart of our company is a belief in the power of in-person collaboration. We expect in-office presence five days a week to fuel creativity, strengthen connections, and drive innovation. This role is onsite unless otherwise stated. The job conditions for this position are in a standard office setting. Employees in this position use PC and phone on an ongoing basis throughout the day. Limited corporate travel may be required to remote offices or other business meetings and events.
