
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Must have reasonable knowledge of electrical code and installation procedures. Diagnose and resolve complex electrical malfunctions in various systems and equipment, from surface mines to underground operations. Excellent critical thinking and troubleshooting skills are essential for identifying and fixing issues in complex systems. Previous experience in 2400V; 480 – 3 phase motor controls and system operation. Knowledge of PLC systems and programming Able to read electrical blueprints. Hold a Journeyman Electrician card preferred. Must have a minimum of 4 years of experience as an Industrial Electrician or 12 months as an Electrician A at Gabbs mine. Troubleshoot effectively with a minimum of supervision. Applicants are required to furnish their own hand tools. Experience in mining is helpful. Must be thoroughly familiar with all aspects of safety in the electrical field. Capable of working with a minimum of supervision. All work described above to be done in an efficient and workman-like manner. Any knowledge of welding and fabrication is a plus but not required. Ensure all work is done safely and in compliance with strict mining regulations and standards, which may include working with specialized safety equipment. Applicant is responsible for the housekeeping and cleanup around his work area. Willingness to train up and coming electricians. Additional duties are required as assigned by management.
