Job title : Contractor Sales
Salary : Base salary of $63,105 - $80,315 depending on experience, plus a lucrative commission structure. Sales professionals meeting expectations typically earn $140K - $150K annually, with top performers exceeding that. No cap on earnings.
Schedule : Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm
Location : Tacoma, Washington
Responsibilities The Contractor Salesperson executes all aspects of our sales call process and strategies, with a primary focus on aggressive prospecting of new residential and commercial contractors. They will facilitate and coordinate business activities of accounts and executing PARR Sales initiatives. This position is responsible for cultivating relationships with builders and general contractors which supports our vision to be the supplier of choice for all building material products in the Northwest.
This role reports to the Division Sales Manager. They interact daily with yard managers & employees (in-store and outside), and customers. They will interact regularly with support employees (Central Purchasing Department, Account Management Team, Human Resources Department, and IT Department.) as well as vendor representatives and industry associates.
Qualifications
2 years sales experience preferred
Prior experience in the building materials industry preferred
Must have good driving record and ability to maintain the same
Must be able to operate personal computer, smartphone, scanner, and any other equipment necessary for the job
Must be able to type 30+ WPM
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to speak, write, and read English required
Class C Driver's License or reliable alternative transportation
Knowledge of building materials and their uses
Proven ability to develop relationships that translate into new business for PARR
Knowledge of PARR purchasing principles, practices, and protocols
Being prepared for individual and group sales meetings
Ability to meet or exceed aggressive sales goals

Ability to work unsupervised and a desire for high level of responsibility
Ability to prioritize work and manage time effectively
Ability to implement PARR's sales strategies and processes
Ability to support PARR purchasing principles practices and protocols
Ability to aggressively pursue company's best interest when selling to customers
Strong interpersonal communication skills and experience dealing with customers
Ability to be flexible and adaptable to daily changing needs/demands of the PARR and its customers
Must be flexible to different personality types and work habits, knowing that goals may be achieved in different ways
Ability to concentrate and attend to detail amidst a busy office environment
Willingness to share department responsibilities to meet deadlines
Perform other related duties as assigned
Working conditions The working conditions for the contractor sales position are divided between time in an office with a desk and being out interacting with potential and current customers.
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods
Ability to work indoors in a normal office environment for an entire day
Must be able to grasp, talk, hear, and operate a computer and keyboard
Must be able to occasionally lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds and carry objects 50 feet
Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Must be able to drive a vehicle with clean driving record
Both local and overnight travel may be required
