Essential Duties
Sales: Develops, designs and implements successful sales strategies that drive the overall catering revenue sales of the department, meeting targeted monthly and annual budgeted goals.
Sales: Directs networking and marketing of the Catering Department to external community. Sells the use of museum facilities and catering services for external clients and internal departments. Develops and maintains an ongoing client base to utilize in conjunction with a sales marketing program.
Sales: Maintains selling skills, current trends and event planning tools through ongoing education. Provides innovative and attractive ideas to entice clients to consider the Museum for their event. Ensures events are within or exceed profit margins and are within the contractual parameters for the Museum.
Customer Service: Maintains and instills high customer service levels in the catering department and throughout the museum. Greets and directs potential internal and external clients with requests for catering information in a positive manner. Educates clients relative to their needs with the museum’s policies and procedures while upholding the mission, vision and values of the museum.
Customer Service: Responds to inquiries within a 24 hour period.
Coordination: Coordinates the use of museum facilities and catering services to achieve a successful event balance within policies and procedures of the museum. Provides proactive communication to all museum departments regarding events that may affect them.
Coordination: Ensures all events are entered and accurately maintained in the reservation book.
Accountability: Maintains strategic ongoing 18 month plans for the department. Keeps the Food Service Director involved in the operations of the department. Maximizes catering dollars to meet budgeted food and beverage percentages ensuring the targeted margin percentages are met.
Accountability: Provides accountability and tracking for performance of specific catering sales and marketing campaigns.
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements
Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience.
3 years’ high volume catering sales.
3 years’ sales experience in a hospitality environment.

Leadership ability
Must possess good negotiation skills
