Senior Product Designer
Typecast (Neosapience, Inc.), San Mateo, California, United States, 94409
Short-form creators need character-driven voices—the creepy narrator for horror shorts, the comedic sidekick for meme videos, the dramatic range for one-person audio dramas. Generic TTS doesn't cut it. But right now, too many creators land on our product, can't quickly find the voice that matches their vision, and leave.
You'll design the solution.
We need a Senior Product Designer who can make voice discovery feel effortless, turn first-time visitors into loyal users, and craft experiences that creators genuinely love. You'll be the first designer on our US team, reporting to our Head of Product(based Korea) who leads Typecast Product Division. Day-to-day, you'll collaborate closely with our US-based Product Manager and US-based Product Marketing team, with significant autonomy in design decisions. If you want to define the design direction for a growing US team at an AI-powered creative tools company, read on… About Typecast Typecast is an AI-powered platform for expressive, human-quality voice creation. We're not building another generic text-to-speech tool—we specialize in character-driven voices with personality, emotion, and performance. For creators who need voices that actually sound like characters, Typecast is the only choice. About You You find problems worth solving.
You don't just make things pretty—you dig into user behavior, identify what's blocking them, and figure out which problems are worth solving. You know the difference between "users say they want X" and "users will pay for Y." You ship awesome solutions.
You've designed experiences that users talk about—not just usable, but genuinely delightful. You own the entire journey from research to concept to launch to iteration, and you're proud of what you've shipped. You thrive with autonomy.
You've worked in environments where you had to figure things out yourself. You're comfortable making decisions with incomplete information and communicating async across time zones. You have the experience to back it up.
5+ years designing consumer or creator-facing products. You've shipped discovery, onboarding, or content creation experiences. You have a portfolio that shows end-to-end ownership and real outcomes. Things You'll Do Own the US product experience.
Lead design across voice discovery, onboarding, and core editing workflows. You'll define how creators find the right voice, experience their first "aha moment," and integrate Typecast into their content workflow. Find high-impact opportunities.
Dig into user research, analyze behavior data, and identify where design can drive meaningful business outcomes. Translate insights into clear problem definitions that guide the team. Craft experiences creators love.
Design solutions that are intuitive, fast, and genuinely delightful. Run experiments, measure results, and iterate based on what you learn. Collaborate across time zones.
Work closely with our US-based PM and Growth Manager day-to-day. Partner with Korea-based engineers through async-first communication, with sync meetings as needed. What You'll Love About This Role Real ownership from day one.
You're the first designer on our US team. You'll build on the problems and intentions the team has already defined, while owning how we solve them for the US market. Fascinating problems at the intersection of AI and creativity.
How do you help creators find "the perfect creepy voice" among hundreds of options? How do you make AI-generated voices feel expressive and human? These are genuinely interesting design challenges. Autonomy with support.
You'll report to our Head of Product with significant independence in design decisions. Locally, you'll have a PM to collaborate with daily. Impact that matters.
