Position Overview Rider University invites applications for the Senior Executive Administrator. The Senior Executive Administrator reports directly to the President and Chief Executive Officer, acting as the President’s primary liaison for internal and external relations. The Senior Executive Administrator assumes responsibility for coordinating communications and projects; responding to requests; as well as collaborating on communications, business development, government and public relations activities and initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities

Day-to-day management of the President’s calendar and activities to ensure high value time utilization of the President in relationship to external and internal requirements. Brief/update the President on upcoming meetings and ongoing obligations.

Timely preparation and presentation of materials for key external and internal meetings involving the President.

Organizes travel arrangements and prepares expense reports for President.

Prepares briefing memos and relevant updates for President on outstanding projects, identifies issues, develops contingencies and suggests remedies.

Assists with or manages special projects which may include public relations, securing high profile speaking engagements, annual reports, or specific personnel and organizational development initiatives.

Provides regular operating status reports to the President as needed, assisting the President during operational reviews through follow up on assigned performance tasks and deadlines.

Required Knowledge, Skills And Experience

A Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum 1-2 years’ experience as executive assistant or other C-level position or equivalent relevant experience.

Excellent organizational skills; flexible and able to multi-task, with demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities.

Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively present and execute on innovative ideas. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Outstanding grammar and proofreading skills.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to high level inquiries from government officials, donors, partners, Board Directors and other members of the community. Experience interacting with a Board of Trustees strongly preferred.

Strong sense of accountability, integrity and ability to handle highly visible responsibilities.

Excellent analytical skills; ability to quickly aggregate and analyze information.

Ability to take initiative, act independently and direct one’s own work.

Ability to work collaboratively and build effective relationships with key stakeholders, University employees, Board of Trustees and external partners.

Able to handle stressful situations with measured calmness and decisiveness.

Guided by exceptional professionalism, discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Advanced knowledge of Google and/or Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom, and Adobe Products.

Flexibility to work nights and weekends in conjunction with President’s obligations and initiatives.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills And Experience

Technical knowledge of multi-media set up, Qualtrics and website management.

Coordinating fundraising events and interface with high-level donors.
