Overview
The Content Marketing Manager will support the MLSC's overall marketing strategy of enhancing the Center's visibility and storytelling throughout the life sciences ecosystem. This position will manage the editorial calendar to map out when stories, events, announcements, and more should be shared across the Center's various platforms, creating a more holistic approach. This person will be responsible for delivering high-quality content in multiple forms across social media, in the newsletter, and through targeted messaging. This position will also support the President and CEO's LinkedIn account by creating live content and writing in his voice. Additionally, this individual will track metrics across social media, MailChimp, and our website to ensure the MLSC's efforts are effectively driving traffic and reaching the right audience.
The Content Marketing Manager will be a key player in supporting the Center's overall awareness campaign; in doing so will require spending time externally facing, meeting various high-level stakeholders across the ecosystem. This team member must be creative, an exceptional communicator and writer, exercise sound judgement, and demonstrate consistent and constructive collaboration in all aspects.
Responsibilities
Manage social media content - scheduling posts in advance through Hootsuite, live or day of posts showcasing MLSC hosted events, legislator engagements, ribbon cuttings, groundbreakings, staff engaged speaking opportunities, and more
Support the President and CEO's LinkedIn account by creating more timely posts that illustrates his whereabouts and positions him as a leading voice in the ecosystem
This position will partner closely with the Executive Office of Economic Development and key stakeholders on relevant social media communications and promotion
Content contributor and proofreading to success stories, articles for the newsletter, and targeted messaging
Help build, execute, and manage the editorial calendar for the marketing team
Contribute to developing efficiencies and processes that can maximize output
Support the marketing and communications team with uploading content into MailChimp
Own content analytics for social media, including the CEO's LinkedIn account, MailChimp, website traffic, YouTube and analyze on a monthly and quarterly basis finding trends, shortcomings, and strengths. This position will partner closely with the Manager of Data Analytics
Assist in developing strategies to enhance our traffic, clicks, and engagement ratings so the Center continues to be the global epicenter of the life sciences industry and a prominent source of information for the community
Help develop short form content videos for the intended use of posting to social media and in the newsletter
Support the creative process by brainstorming ideas on innovative infographics and visuals to enhance our messaging and show impact for intended use on social media, website, and the newsletter
Assist wider marketing, communications, and public affairs team with projects as needed
Build rapport across the organization and communicate proactively and build strong relationships with the Executive Leadership Team and staff across the organization
Requirements
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3-4 years of experience
Exceptional written skills
Social media content developer
Fluent in CMS (Wordpress, Hootsuite, Airtable, Mailchimp, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook)
Familiarity with Adobe suites a plus
Familiarity with creating keyword-driven content to drive rankings
Exceptional organizational skills and ability to multitask with competing priorities
Strong communication skills
Knowledge of life sciences a plus
