Overview We’re looking for a curious, collaborative designer who’s excited to help protect and evolve Gaia’s visual identity—bringing our purpose of connecting plants, people, and planet to life across every touchpoint. As a member of the Creative Team, the Graphic Designer will keep brand storytelling cohesive (and beautiful) across Gaia Herbs, Gaia Herbs PRO, and Salus, while jumping into a wide range of design and production work—from packaging for new and existing products to marketing materials, digital assets, and everything in between. The ideal candidate values fresh ideas, thoughtful experimentation, and creating design work that is both impactful and meaningful.
Responsibilities
Proactively develops and executes creative concepts across all three segments of the organization.
Ensures that creative deliverables accurately reflect the project objectives and brand identities.
Collaborates with the Brand Director, Creative Director and the marketing and sales departments in developing campaigns and design concepts aligning with business objectives, contributing to the evolution of each brand.
Develops and maintains cohesive visual systems that are carried through all collateral including assets for packaging, print, digital, merchandising, sales, and events.
Creates and adapts high-performing social media assets—including static posts, stories, reels/short-form video, animations, & paid media graphics.
Participates in brainstorming sessions with the creative team to generate innovative ideas while adhering to budgetary constraints.
Presents creative concepts with thorough justification and sound rationale.
Communicates and collaborates with external partners, such as printers, freelancers, and other production-related vendors in a professional and timely manner.
Reviews and authorizes print files (packaging, brochures, POS materials, etc) for production with various vendors.
Stays current on design trends, research and technologies and disseminates information to the team on any relevant issues.
Supports commercial efforts with creative design for product releases, presentations, and pitch decks.
Qualifications Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in fine arts (BFA) with an emphasis in Graphic Design
3-5 years of Graphic Design experience in an agency or in-house Marketing department
Proficient in developing unified content across diverse marketing channels including digital, paid media, retail, and events.
Experience with consumer-packaged goods is highly desirable, as is an understanding of plants and herbs within the supplement sector.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Expertise in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) are required.
Proficiency in After Effects, Premiere Pro, Word, PowerPoint, and Figma is desirable.
Thorough understanding of marketing, campaigns, packaging, advertising, web design, printing, and photography
Exceptional creative skills and a keen eye for design principles
Fluent in the fundamentals of design and production
Strong understanding of design principles, layout, color, and typography.
Self-motivated, collaborative, detail-oriented and able to independently manage a project from conception to production.
Efficient in handling numerous projects within defined deadlines and creative constraints
Strong creative thinking and problem-solving abilities
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Knowledge of industry regulations and requirements, including GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and DSHEA (Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act)
