Summary of Job Duties:
This posting will be used to fill multiple positions. Temporary Part-Time PRN (as needed) / Shifts vary.
The In-House Agency RN Program offers PRN employment for 13-week intervals. Participants work 36 hours/week for 13 weeks and are paid a competitive hourly rate with weekend differentials. To qualify, applicants must have a valid RN license issued by the State of Arkansas and 12 months of experience in an acute care hospital. Experience in the past 12 months must include 6 months in a direct patient care role in an acute care hospital. Applicants cannot be currently employed by UAMS; previous UAMS employees must have terminated more than 180 days prior.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program with an Associate Degree, Nursing Diploma, Bachelor’s in Nursing, or Master’s in Nursing
Valid RN License
Nursing Experience: minimum of 12 months as an RN in an acute care hospital
Experience in the last 12 months may include up to 6 months in a management position, but must include at least 6 months in a direct patient care role
Excellent communication skills
Basic computer skills
Strong work ethics and accountability
Specialty areas (e.g., Intensive Care, F4 Surgical Trauma) may require pre-screening with a minimum score of 80%
Chemotherapy certification may be required to work Oncology units
Work one major holiday and one additional holiday, in addition to every other weekend, during the 13-week RN Internal Contract period
Preferred Qualifications:
2 or more years of RN experience
Additional Requirements:
Employees must be fitted for and able to don PPE including N95, PAPRs or CAPRs where applicable.
Responsibilities:
The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide direct patient care, coordinate care, triage, and work with clinic providers, fellows, and staff. Coordinate with patient referral sources, facilitate appointments, manage transitions of care, and educate patients on complex conditions. Develop and implement individual health plans with patients and families.
