HDR is seeking a Senior Strategic Communications Coordinator to join our growing program and lead engagement efforts for transportation and water projects across Minnesota. We are looking for an experienced communications professional who is passionate about strategic communications and stakeholder engagement—particularly in transportation, construction, planning/studies, wastewater, drinking water, and water resources. As a natural connector, you'll build strong relationships, understand client priorities, and develop tailored strategies that drive meaningful engagement. You will collaborate closely with HDR project managers and technical staff, translating technical concepts into clear, accessible content for diverse audiences. You’ll join an industry-leading practice of more than 200 communication consultants across North America, delivering strategic communications services that strengthen our clients\' messaging and engagement strategies. Build relationships with HDR\'s clients and internal teams to understand priorities and develop engagement strategies. Lead engagement efforts for transportation and water projects, including public involvement, public relations, and community engagement initiatives. Translate technical concepts into clear, accessible content for diverse audiences. Collaborate with project managers and technical staff to deliver strategic communications services. Manage projects and relationships with HDR\'s largest clients in the transportation, construction communications, planning/studies, wastewater, drinking water, and water resources sectors. Identify opportunities for team synergies and ensure timely delivery of deliverables. Required Qualifications

A minimum of 8 years of relevant industry experience Experience leading social media campaigns Service- and client-oriented personality with the ability to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines Self-starter; capable of working independently or in a team Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational skills Commitment to being an active participant in our employee-owned culture Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with the architecture and engineering consulting industry Experience in transportation, wastewater, drinking water, and/or water resources industries Previous consulting or account management experience preferred Preference given to local candidates Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds without assistance Must be able to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and via email Must be able to independently get to meetings and events What We Believe

The expected compensation range for this position depends on skills, experience, education and geographical location.
