
Epitec is seeking an experienced Real Estate Representative to join our client's team in the Energy industry. As a Real Estate Representative, the candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting land acquisitions and property negotiations for critical infrastructure projects.
This is a 1 year W2 contract with potential for extension/conversion
This is a remote role (Occasional travel may be required, living in Michigan is preferred)
Top Responsibilities
Negotiate land rights with private landowners and governmental agencies for fee simple, easements, leases, temporary workspace, licenses, permits, and ordinances. Plan and manage workload—prioritize tasks, adapt to changing priorities, and deliver under minimal supervision. Perform due diligence (internal and external) to validate land rights; identify gaps and drive curative actions. Serve as primary liaison with landowners/tenants on ownership, easement rights, access issues, and damage claims. Apply company policies, procedures, and processes to all right‑of‑way activities. Represent the company at public meetings/hearings before municipalities, zoning/township boards, drainage boards, county commissions, and similar bodies. Top Qualifications
2+ years of Right‑of‑Way/Real Estate experience, including ≥1 year acquiring land rights. Proficient in land title research, abstracts, and chain‑of‑title review. Knowledge of settlement instruments and contract terms relevant to land rights. Ability to read and interpret survey plats, plan & profile, engineering, construction, and related drawings. Strong negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills; effective at resolving issues with owners and agencies. Highly organized and self‑directed, able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines under pressure.
