Job Title: Retention Assistant | Location: GHC - Cartersville Instr. Site | Regular | Full-Time Georgia Highlands College is a multi-campus, state college member of the University System of Georgia. The college serves more than 6,000 students across its five locations in Rome, Cartersville, Marietta, and Dallas, offering associate and bachelor’s degree options both in the classroom and online. This position reports to the Director of Tutoring and Learning Support. About the role: This position is responsible for researching, planning, and executing effective strategies and programs to enhance retention and student success for students identified through institutional data as needing additional academic support. Responsibilities

Understand and support the college\'s mission, vision, and values and comply with mandates and regulations of government and accrediting bodies Coordinate with Academic Affairs, faculty, and learning to meet supplemental instructional needs and report on enrollment and retention data Manage, oversee, train, and report on the college\'s Early Alert System Monitor individual student academic advancement and connect students with intervention support services through early intervention processes Communicate with faculty and staff to develop and maintain academic support programs that ensure student success Collaborate with Student Engagement and academic support services, college staff, and faculty to develop and implement retention initiatives and services Manage hardship withdrawal applications and submit relevant data to the Provost\'s Office Receive full withdrawal submissions and guide students through the process Communicate with faculty and staff as retention programming and academic support services are developed and aligned Communicate professionally, tactfully, and courteously with students, employees, faculty, and the general public Ensure all activities comply with College policies, FERPA guidelines, and applicable employment and education laws Perform assigned responsibilities and related duties safely and with minimal supervision Qualifications

Knowledge and competency associated with the completion of an associate degree related to the occupational field Experience understanding basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, typically from an apprenticeship, internship, or similar role lasting about 1 year Equivalent combination of experience and/or education – 2 years Possession of or ability to obtain a valid driver\'s license for the vehicle or equipment operated Proposed Salary: $40,000 annually Required Documents to Attach
