Introduction SV Design is looking for a personable, motivated, and organized individual to join our Chatham residential team. As an architectural designer, you will be working primarily on mid to large-sized high-end residential projects. You will be the draftsperson for your projects and responsible for quality, coordination (in‑house and externally), and schedule.
What you'll do
Uphold SV Design's standards of professionalism, creativity, and design excellence across all project work
Develop design layouts and features through research, documentation, and coordination with project teams
Conduct field measurements and documentation to draft and review existing building conditions
Contribute to schematic design through both hand drafting and computer-generated renderings
Create detailed CAD drawings or Revit models based on existing building dimensions and design sketches
Incorporate redline revisions accurately across all project phases
Assist project managers with material sourcing, scheduling, errands, and preparation of presentation boards
Produce design development drawings in coordination with architects to ensure alignment with design intent
Support the progression of projects through design development and construction documentation phases
Review construction drawings and shop drawings for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project standards
What you'll have
This is an in‑office position based in our Chatham, MA location; candidates must live within a reasonable commuting distance
Professional degree in Architecture from a U.S.-accredited program (or equivalent)
0–6 years of professional architectural experience, ideally with a focus on residential projects
Strong ability to communicate design ideas through sketches and visual concepts
Proficiency in Revit, Adobe Photoshop, and Microsoft Office required
Collaborative team player who values open communication and diverse perspectives
Ability to take direction from senior staff and contribute to a supportive team environment
Highly detail-oriented with strong time management skills and the ability to work efficiently across multiple tasks
Motivated, professional, and committed to producing high-quality work
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
