The Director of Communication leads the development and execution of communication strategies that strengthen the companys brand, protect its reputation, and support organizational priorities. This role partners closely with executive leadership and crossfunctional teams to deliver compelling external and internal messaging, oversee media relations, and manage key corporate events. The Director serves as both a strategist and handson practitioner, ensuring all communications reflect the companys mission, values, and voice.

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement corporate communications strategies that support business objectives and enhance brand reputation.
  • Serve as an advisor to senior leaders on messaging, media positioning, and stakeholder communications.
  • Oversee communication between the companys leadership and employees through channels such as memos, newsletters, and website content.

Corporate & Brand Communications

  • Lead the creation, review, and distribution of press releases, corporate statements, executive speeches, and external announcements.
  • Ensure consistent tone, voice, and branding across all corporate communication channels.
  • Manage media relations, cultivating relationships with journalists and industry influencers.
  • Assist in messaging, agenda, and production for annual summit, leadership meetings, and other organization events.
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure flawless execution of logistics, scripts, talking points, and followup communications.

Measurement & Reporting

  • Define KPIs for communication initiatives and track performance against goals.
  • Deliver regular reporting on media coverage, sentiment, and audience engagement to the Director and senior leadership.

What We Require

  • Bachelors degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field.
  • 4-6 years of progressively responsible experience in corporate communications, brand communications, or public relations.
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing communication strategies.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and presentation skills.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience working directly with senior executives and media outlets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with media monitoring and analytics tools.
  • Job location is based at Scions Chicago corporate headquarters.
  • Working hours consist of standard daytime business hours with occasional evening hours.

The base salary range for this fulltime position is $115,000 - $125,000 USD.
