Job Summary

The Cardiac Sonography Program Director is responsible for the structure and management of the program's daily operations. This includes curriculum development, classroom/skills lab/clinical/simulation instruction, assessment, accreditation, student support, supervision, leadership, community outreach, and maintenance of internal and external partnerships.

Job Duties

Ensure initial and then ongoing program accreditation processes under the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs ( CAAHEP ) by satisfying the Joint Review Committee on Education in Cardiovascular Technology (JRC-CVT).

Consistently review and align policies and procedures with CAAHEP standards and guidelines for JRC-CVT.

Maintain current expert knowledge in cardiac sonography and educational methodologies through continuing professional development.

Responsible for course outline, goals, and objectives development.

Curriculum development and the review and maintenance of course objectives and syllabi.

Development of program/student schedule and assignments.

Deliver classroom instructions, demonstrate technical aspects and theory in skills lab and clinical settings.

Demonstrate expertise and knowledge of the course content.

Prepares medical imaging content by utilizing a variety of teaching strategies to deliver the course content.

Recommend and procure instructional materials and aids for the school and instructors.

Plan and oversee accreditation site visits.

Responsible for management and oversight of candidate interview and student selection processes.

Evaluate and maintain record of student competencies.

Responsible for student compliance with policies and procedures.

Responsible for co ordinating student concern and grievance resolution process.

Oversight and evaluation of clinical instructors and/or adjunct faculty of the program.

Coordinate school graduation program.

Effectively prepare medical imaging students for licensure examinations.

Continue professional development in scholarship, teaching, and continuing education.

Bachelor's Degree- (Required), Master's Degree- (Preferred)

Experience

Minimum of 5 years-Related work experience (Required)

Certification(s) and License(s)

Adult Echocardiography (AE) - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
