Job Title: Technical Writer
Job Summary
The Municipal Court is seeking a skilled Technical Writer to develop clear, user-friendly process documentation for a new software system implementation. This role focuses on translating complex court workflows and system procedures into standardized, easy-to-use reference materials that support staff training and day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities
Review training videos, written workflows, and process diagrams related to the new software system
Translate complex procedures into clear, consistent, and accessible documentation
Develop step-by-step process documents, job aids, and training guides for end users
Ensure documentation supports adult learning principles and serves as ongoing reference material
Collaborate with subject matter experts, trainers, and project stakeholders to validate accuracy
Maintain consistency in terminology, formatting, and documentation standards
Required Qualifications
Proven experience in technical writing or process documentation
Strong ability to simplify complex information for non-technical audiences
Excellent written communication and attention to detail
Experience working with structured processes, workflows, or systems documentation
Preferred Qualifications
Experience developing training documentation or instructional materials
Familiarity with government, legal, or court environments
Experience supporting software implementations or system rollouts
