Director of Dietary duties
Provide visionary leadership to the dietary department, including hiring, training, and supervising dietary staff Develop nutritious and appealing menus that meet the dietary needs and preferences of residents/patients while adhering to budgetary constraints and regulatory requirements Oversee food preparation and production processes to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to sanitation and food safety standards Coordinate with healthcare teams to assess residents'/patients' nutritional needs and develop individualized dietary plans Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations governing dietary services, including sanitation, safety, and nutrition standards Manage dietary department budgets, including food and supply procurement, labor costs, and expense monitoring Implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance the nutritional services provided to residents/patients and optimize their health outcomes Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and dietitians, to integrate dietary services into the overall care plan Foster a culture of exceptional customer service and resident/patient satisfaction within the dietary department Provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities to dietary staff to enhance their skills and knowledge Director of Dietary Requirements
Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification or Registered Dietitian (RD) licensure preferred Minimum of 2 + years of experience in dietary management, preferably in a healthcare or long-term care setting Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and empower dietary staff to achieve excellence Comprehensive knowledge of nutrition principles, therapeutic diets, and food service operations Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams and communicate dietary information to residents/patients Proficiency in computer applications and dietary software systems Knowledge of regulatory requirements governing dietary services, including CMS and state survey guidelines Commitment to quality improvement and customer service excellence Compassion, empathy, and a patient-centered approach
