Molding is responsible for creating molds, operating heavy equipment, and ensuring quality and safety in foundry operations. This role requires adherence to environmental, health, and safety regulations, as well as maintaining accuracy and accountability through proper documentation and housekeeping practices./ph3Responsibilities/h3ulliAdhere to environmental, health, and safety regulations./liliRead and understand work instructions./liliComplete appropriate paperwork to ensure accuracy and accountability./liliRig and operate up to 40,000 pounds with an overhead crane./liliStrike off a mold./liliDisassemble and reassemble flasks./liliRoll over a flask or dirt mold./liliPull a hardened mold or flask from its pattern./liliPatch and repair any damaged molds./liliAnalyze molding and casting defects to suggest corrective action./liliUse a Baume hydrometer to achieve proper density of mold wash./liliApply mold wash using brush, spray, or flow coat./liliPromote good housekeeping./liliInspect daily to proactively prevent downtime of tools and equipment./liliOrganize and prepare patterns to be molded./liliPerform blender calibrations./liliCreate molds from patterns or loose patterns./liliStop off impeller cheeks./liliUnderstand basic principles of risers, runner systems, and down sprues./li/ulh3Qualifications/h3pEducation:/pulliHigh school diploma or GED/li/ulpExperience:/pulliOverhead cranes/liliRigging hardware/liliForklifts/liliBlender/liliBobcat Loader/liliMold handler/manipulator/li/ulh3Physical Requirements/h3pFrequently:/pulliStanding, walking, sitting, bending, squatting, stooping/liliLifting, pushing, and pulling up to 75 lbs./li/ulpOccasionally:/pulliOverhead work/liliClimbing ladders or stairs/liliDriving forklifts/liliOperating cranes/li/ulpKSB GIW, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
