Primary responsibilities include developing and crafting new business opportunities through promoting the flow cytometry instrument portfolio, working strategically with their Reagent Sales Specialist, Applications Specialists, Field Service, High Parameter Team, and Global Key Accounts. The RIS will actively seek to retain/develop our large key accounts, and convert competitive business in assigned territory, with the intent of growing revenue while balancing reasonable margins. Special focus will solution-selling (instruments, reagents, software, value adds, custom solutions, etc.) across the territory. The RIS reports to the Regional Business Manager (RBM) and is directly responsible for achieving their territory sales growth. Candidates should ideally be located in: St. Louis, Indianapolis, Nashville or Memphis areas. Key responsibilities will include: Meet weekly with customers, focusing on key accounts and large business opportunities. Develop Territory Business Plan to achieve sales goals. Managing incremental conversion opportunities from initial targeting through evaluation and implementation. Implementing marketing initiatives and national/regional contractual agreements. Takes ownership of sales funnel, providing up-to-date territory analyses and maintaining a robust and accurate forecast in Salesforce.com Working with colleagues in reagent sales, technical applications, field service, science force, and global key accounts to provide unified, system solution to customers Utilizing available sales support resources and tools in order to meet and exceed customer satisfaction as well as sales goals. Brings regulatory compliance questions/issues to the attention of management. Travel within territory up to 60% of the time. Education and experience required: Bachelor's degree 3 -5 years of successful life sciences-related experience. Strong understanding of flow cytometry and research workflows. About you: Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical and large account management skills. Ability to collaborate with peers in reagent sales, technical applications, science force, and global key accounts to promote system selling of BD products. A demonstrated successful sales track record, solid negotiation skills, exhibit effective selling, listening, and verbal/presentation skills, and ability to pre-call plan to assess and respond to customer needs. Solving customer problems & creating value for our customers Cultivate relationships with scientists, principal investigators, and lab managers to create partnerships that result in win-win solutions. Preferred Qualifications: Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SFDC. Graduate level degree in science and/or business. Former Flow Cytometry experience. Former capital equipment experience.
