The Director, SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting will work cross-functionally on SEC reporting matters for preparation and review of financial statements, footnote disclosures, MDA and relevant disclosure checklists. Additionally, the Director, SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting should have US GAAP and SEC Regs expertise in applying and interpreting technical accounting, reporting and disclosure requirements, as well as a strong understanding of economics and business matters. Direct interaction with executives, senior management, in-house/external legal teams, auditors and tax and other advisors./ph2Responsibilities/h2pYour Key Responsibilities (Essential Functions)/pulliServe as the subject matter expert on U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations./liliResearch and document technical accounting issues, including revenue recognition, lease accounting, share-based compensation, and business combinations./liliDraft technical accounting memos and position papers./liliReview material contracts for accounting implications./liliLead the implementation of new accounting standards and pronouncements./liliManage the SEC reporting calendar and ensure timely execution of all filings./liliOversee XBRL tagging and ensure accuracy and completeness of disclosures./liliCoordinate internal and external reviews of SEC filings, including tie-outs and audit support./liliLead the interim reviews and annual audit processes with the external auditors./liliPrepare materials for the quarterly disclosure committee and audit committee meetings./liliWork directly with the Investor Relations and Legal teams on a quarterly and annual basis with respect to the drafting and review of press releases, earnings releases, investor letters and related SEC filings./liliSupport the internal audit team with respect to SOX controls related to the SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting functions./liliLead and mentor a team of accounting professionals./liliSpecial projects in support of broader corporate initiatives./li/ulh2Qualifications/h2pWhat You Bring to the Table: Education Certification Requirements/ppWere looking for someone who has a unique mix of experience, skills, and passion for what we do:/pulliA minimum of 8 years of experience with recent public accounting experience./liliBachelors degree in Accounting./liliAn active CPA license./liliProven track record in technical accounting research and writing memos./liliDeep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and SOX compliance./liliHands on experience with SEC Filings (10-K, 10-Q, S-1, S-4, 8-K etc.)./liliStrong written and verbal communication skills for presenting complex accounting matters./liliAbility to lead and mentor teams./liliHigh attention to detail and organizational skills./liliAbility to work cross-functionally with Legal, FPA, Tax, Investor Relations and Human Resources./liliWorking knowledge of Workiva a must and NetSuite a plus./li/ulh2What We Offer/h2pWhat We Offer: Salary Range Benefits/ppAt Wheels Up, we believe in fair compensation based on experience, skills, and qualifications. The salary for this role ranges from $165,000/Yr. to $175,000/Yr., depending on a variety of factors. We dont typically start individuals at the top of the salary range; your place within the range is based on what you bring to the table.
