Director of Marketing Strategy & Implementation
Cooley is seeking a Director of Marketing Strategy & Implementation to join the Marketing and Business Development team.
The Director of Marketing Strategy & Implementation is responsible for defining and driving the firm's approach to delivering omnichannel client journeys. This role leads the development of a framework for end-to-end marketing campaigns that is audiencefirst, rooted in data and continuously optimized to effectively bridge brand strategy to demand generation to deliver measurable impact. Establish Audience & Persona Strategy: Lead the development of datadriven personas and segmentation frameworks, ensuring all marketing efforts are tailored to specific client needs and professional lifecycles
Develop Channel Strategy Recommendations: Establish the logic for how various channels interact within the ecosystem and collaborate to recommend the optimal mix of digital and traditional channels (Email, Web, Social, Events) to maximize campaign reach and impact
Serve as the strategic lead translating business objectives into actionable technical and channel requirements
Omnichannel Implementation and Performance
Lead Activation and Implementation: Collaborate across marketing and business development teams to oversee the design and activation of campaigns, ensuring processes are correctly implemented and phases are completed
Architect Marketing Analytics and Reporting: Establish robust KPIs and tracking mechanisms across all channels to measure the effectiveness of the omnichannel ecosystem and its contribution to the sales pipeline
Utilize marketing insights and performance data to continually refine channel tactics in realtime, journey maps, and audience segments to improve conversion rates
CrossFunctional Liaison: Act as a growth catalyst, participating in all phases of work and liaising across marketing and business development functions, ensuring that strategic journey maps are executed with brandconsistent assets and hightouch interactions
Market and Competitor Intelligence: Continuously monitor the B2B marketing landscape and competitor channel tactics to ensure the firm's digital presence remains innovative, proactive, and marketleading
Governance Advocacy: Work with marketing and business development, the Technology and Innovation teams and firm leadership to establish processes and governance. Educate the department, firm leadership and internal stakeholders to protect brand equity, improve client experience and optimize internal resource allocation
Provide daytoday supervision of direct reports, ensure compliance with assigned work hours and monitor for compliance with all firm and department policies. Manage staffing coverage, review and process time logs/time off requests
Support business professional development and continued educational opportunities.
~ In collaboration withHR, participate in hiring, performance appraisals, counseling, termination and other employee lifecycle events
~ After orientation at Cooley LLP, exhibit proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, iManage and other firm applications
~ Ability to work extended and/or weekend hours, as required
~ Ability to travel, as required
~ Bachelor's degree
~10+ years of directly applicable marketing strategy and execution experience at a management level, with proven ability to manage, coach and motivate with proven experience working across a matrixed organization, preferably in a large global professional services firm or B2B environment
~ Expertise in marketing best practices, digital marketing, measurement and workflow management
~ Demonstrated success developing modern multichannel strategies at the brand and campaign levels within tight budgetary and resource constraints
~ Strong understanding of performance metrics, analytics, and using data to inform future strategy
~ Proficient in the use of CRM and other marketing and business development technologies
MBA or advanced degree in a related field and significant prior experience in marketing or sales
Experience managing a large team of reports
Proactive, high energy, creative, quick thinking and comfortable with risk
Strong operational orientation and ability to drive complex, multistakeholder projects
Ability to carry and achieve marketing goals
Unwavering ability to handle and maintain confidentiality regarding firm information, projects, client data (if applicable)
The expected annual pay range for this position with a fulltime schedule is $300,000 - $360,000.
