
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Medical Data Entry Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately entering, updating, and maintaining patient medical information in our electronic health records (EHR) system. The ideal candidate has attention to detail, understands medical terminology, and is committed to maintaining the confidentiality and accuracy of patient records. This team works fully onsite at the office in Tempe, AZ: Monday-Friday 6am-2:30pm.
salary: $18 - $20 per hour shift: First work hours: 6 AM - 2:30 PM education: No Degree Required
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Enter patient data into electronic health records (EHR) systems accurately and efficiently
Verify the accuracy of information received from healthcare providers
Update and maintain existing medical records and ensure completeness
Communicate with medical staff to resolve discrepancies or obtain missing data
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare regulations regarding data privacy and security
Scan, organize, and archive physical medical documents if needed
Perform routine data audits to identify and correct errors
Generate reports from EHR or medical databases as requested
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or certification in medical administration or related field preferred
Proven experience in data entry, preferably in a healthcare setting
Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD-10 codes, and EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Meditech)
Computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent typing speed and accuracy (minimum of 50 WPM preferred)
Organizational and time management skills
High level of attention to detail and confidentiality
