Purpose of Role
The Senior Sports Footwear Designer will transform the brand's vision into innovative and trendsetting designs. You will collaborate with designers, product managers, and developers, and lead the design process with creativity and integrity. We seek a designer who expresses individual inspirations while creating exciting products that athletes desire.
Your Impact
Contribute to crafting a unique brand identity and distinctive Under Armour footwear that reflects a creative design vision.
Design and present footwear concepts, including materials, trims, and colors.
Create detailed technical packages for product development.
Ensure products are aligned with pricing strategies, merchandising narratives, and development timelines.
Communicate ideas through various media, including sketches and digital illustrations.
Generate product concepts that align with marketing needs and project briefs.
Steer the design vision and strategy for footwear in both short and long terms.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree with 8 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 6 years, or 12 years of relevant experience without a degree.
Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and PowerPoint.
Experience in model making and essential footwear craft skills.
Knowledge of footwear manufacturing processes, preferably with hands-on experience in sample rooms and factories.
Strong understanding of footwear construction and materials, including manufacturing techniques.
Ability to communicate concepts effectively through hand sketching.
Familiarity with patterns, blueprints, molds, and materials.
Exceptional presentation skills, with the ability to engage various audiences.
Passionate about fashion with a comprehensive understanding of the intersections among sports, culture, and design.
Workplace Location Location:
This position is based in Baltimore, MD, and the individual must reside within commuting distance.
Work Schedule:
This role follows a hybrid schedule, requiring 4 days in the office each week.
