Underwriting Associate - Construction Property

In this role, you will collaborate with seasoned Underwriters to review and analyze various risks while enhancing your research and analytical skills.

Although this position is hybrid, you will need to report to one of our office locations: Chicago, IL, Edina, MN, or Overland Park, KS.
Your responsibilities will include:
Evaluating and summarizing risk exposures, controls, and loss history to support underwriting decisions on submissions.
Assisting Underwriters with policy rating, pricing, policy construction, and issuing accurate policies.
Providing account servicing support in collaboration with the Underwriter and Manager for new business, renewals, and endorsements.
Responding to inquiries from clients in a timely manner under the guidance of your Underwriter or Manager.
Supporting interactions with brokers and customers through excellent customer service skills.
Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with no prior experience in relevant fields or an Associate Degree from the Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice program.
High School Diploma or Equivalent with 2+ years of experience in Administrative, Customer Service, Financial Services, Risk Management, or Insurance.
Familiarity with data collection and analysis.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of the insurance industry.
Experience with processing, rating, and policy management systems in insurance.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to build relationships and listen actively to customers and colleagues.
Prior customer service experience.
Detail-oriented with an ability to provide accurate data timely.
Self-directed and able to meet deadlines.
Ability to multi-task.
Willingness to travel up to 5% as needed.
Your compensation at Zurich will reflect your role, location, skills, and experience, with eligibility for bonuses and merit increases.
