Director of Software Architecture This is a global leadership position within the Cevego software development team, reporting to the Head of Radiology R&D Software Architecture. The Cevego injector empowers users to program and execute injections of contrast media and flushing solutions for Interventional Radiology (IR) and Interventional Cardiology (IC) procedures. Your role will involve directing technical implementation and architectural design while collaborating with developers on medical device user interfaces and embedded hardware control. As the Director of Software Architecture, you will take on the following key responsibilities: Lead the overall development and delivery of the Cevego Software product, including Device Software Solutions and Software as a Medical Device Applications. Provide expert technical advice to the Cevego Software Team Lead for integrating hardware and software components, focusing on Class II application development. Define the software architecture and ensure integration of common elements across the Cevego project team, including use of the Common Software Platform and User Experience standards. Optimize development tools and processes for the Cevego device software and application development teams. Encourage and implement agile development principles within the team continuously. Ensure strong integration of DevOps practices, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Delivery into the architectural vision. Contribute to a strategic software technology roadmap aligned with device development and the Radiology Software Technology Roadmap. Anticipate future capability needs and drive departmental strategies that align with clinical and market trends. Forge strategic external partnerships to fill functional gaps and enhance expertise. Collaborate with executive management to set and direct strategy implementation. Build and nurture high-performing teams within an empowered and agile culture, adapting continually to evolving work methods while maintaining compliance and quality standards. This position is primarily located at Bayer's R&D center in Pittsburgh, Indianola, PA. Who You Are We seek a candidate with the following qualifications: Required Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree or higher in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Extensive experience in medical device and embedded software development within a regulated environment. Exceptional leadership and motivational skills. In-depth understanding of software development processes, architecture, data structures, and compliance in medical device software. Proven track record of implementing consistent quality software development processes. Experience in developing distributed software and platform-based solutions. Preferred Qualifications: A Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technology discipline. Familiarity with technologies such as Qt, C++, MongoDB, gRPC, YoctoOS, C, and SafeRTOS. Comprehensive knowledge of radiology workflows and technology standards applicable to radiology, including PACS, RIS, DICOM, and FHIR. This position is open for applications until at least 1/26/2026. The salary range is between $147,040.00 - $220,560.00, and additional compensation may include bonuses or commissions.
