Position Summary: Reporting to the director of athletics, the Executive Senior Associate Athletic Director and SeniorWoman Administrator serves on the athletic director’s executive staff and is responsible for coordinating, administering, and evaluating assigned sports, overseeing designated administrative areas, and representing Rice Athletics at conference and national meetings. Additionally, this position will serve as the primary point of contact with the office of the Faculty Athletic Representative and members of the Rice University Athletic Committee. This role serves as a representative of the University, acting as the deputy Title IX coordinator, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions with other members of the Rice community and the public. This position is responsible for managing some events and activities assigned by the director of athletics.

Workplace Requirements: This position is exclusively on-site, necessitating all duties to be performed in person. Per Rice policy 440, work arrangements may be subject to change.

This role is classified as an essential position, requiring on-site presence to effectively carry out its vital functions.

Hiring Range: Commensurate based on education and experience

*Exempt (salaried) positions under FLSA are not eligible for overtime

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree

Six or more (6+) years of related experience

Skills

Leadership and strategic management skills

Strong organization skills with keen attention to detail and the ability to build relationships

Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment

Preferences:

Master’s or Doctorate degree

Professional experience in collegiate athletics or at an institution of higher education in a leadership role

Experience working with the Office of Admissions, financial aid, registrar, residential life, and the career center.

Oversight of academic support and student-athlete development

Experience in NCAA compliance and governance

Experience serving on conference and/or national committees

Demonstrated ability to form partnerships across campus and within the community

Essential Functions:

Provides supervision and administrative oversight for athletics’ administrative units as assigned.

Acts as a sport administrator for programs as assigned.

Collaborates with various campuses and community entities to promote the strategic goals of the athletics department and Rice University

Collaborates with the director of athletics and the executive athletics staff to set department policies and goals

Serve as the deputy Title IX coordinator, collaborating with campus entities to ensure compliance.

Promote an atmosphere of compliance to ensure all conference and NCAA policies and procedures are followed.

Performs all other duties as assigned
