Overview Veeco Instruments is hiring a Technical Marketing Engineer for its molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) product line to help develop and sell semiconductor processing equipment. Responsibilities include collaborating with teams to assess customer needs, configuring products, creating quotes, developing regional strategies, and handling customer escalations. This visible, cross‑functional role directly influences the success of the MBE product line. Candidates should have strong analytical and creative skills to understand requirements, configure products, and highlight the value of our offerings. Semiconductor equipment experience is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with internal teams to understand customer requirements and assist in product configuration
Lead and support customer interactions (virtual and in‑person) for both sales opportunities and technical reviews
Support sales activities including quote preparation, product documentation, and responses to requests for quotes
Develop marketing materials that highlight product value and differentiation
Build relationships with customers, sales, and service teams to promote the MBE product line
Contribute to regional marketing strategies and sales growth initiatives
Achieve booking and margin targets
Travel up to 25% globally as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (Materials Science, Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, or related field) and 2 years of related experience in engineering, product marketing, or in/adjacent to semiconductor or related industries ; Master’s degree or PhD preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to work independently and effectively in a matrixed team environment while managing multiple tasks
Interest in semiconductor equipment, thin‑film deposition, or related technologies
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical skills and capabilities with data analysis tools
Preferred: familiarity with engineering concepts including mechanical, electrical, software, and vacuum systems
Ability to interpret technical and specifications
Creative and critical thinking to translate customer needs into product solutions
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP preferred)
Prior exposure to semiconductor capital equipment, thin‑film deposition (MBE, atomic layer deposition, metal organic chemical vapor deposition, or similar) is a plus
Salary and Benefits The expected salary range for this position is $66,385 — $84,088.30, plus a bonus opportunity. We will consider your location, experience, and other job‑related factors when determining your pay.
