This position offers flexibility, with options for part‑time or full‑time schedules. You’ll become part of a collaborative team of experts making an impact in our various service lines including municipal, transportation, structural, traffic, water resources, surveying, and construction services. In this role, you’ll shape Ayres’ market presence by cultivating strategic partnerships, engaging with municipal and transportation leaders, and connecting clients with the right project teams to drive successful outcomes. On any given day, you’ll: Develop and implement strategic business development plans and marketing strategies with measurable goals. Coordinate and attend trade shows, conferences and hospitality events to strengthen client relationships. Perform client maintenance in conformity to group manager’s business plans. Track business development leads and opportunities and communicate activities and objectives with technical staff and management. Cross‑sell Ayres’ professional services and connect clients to appropriate staff members. Engage with local government clients to understand their needs and develop tailored solutions. Serve as an ambassador of Ayres through commitment to community and being active in a civic or professional organization with a leadership role. Monitor client satisfaction through proactive communication. Assist in the development and preparation of written project proposals, including meeting with clients to gain this vision of success for the project. Develop interview strategies and participate in interviews to present company qualifications. Mentor staff assigned in business development activities including joint client calls and trade show participation. Required Qualifications: Existing relationships with government officials in the transportation and municipal field in Wisconsin. A willingness to travel on a regular basis with some overnight stay expected. Desired Qualifications and Skills Demonstrated aptitude for business development, decision making, interpersonal skills, and as a strong team player. Formal training in business administration, sales, communications, or relevant field. Technical background with ability to understand clients’ needs and align services appropriately. Effective communicator in a variety of settings: one‑on‑one, small and large groups, and virtual. Experience developing clients and securing projects.
