Job Title Communications Specialist

Job Purpose The Communications Specialist is responsible for leading customer communication strategies across email, SMS, and other channels to deliver timely, relevant, and action-driven messaging. This role manages large-scale, high-volume communications to a diverse customer base, ensuring messages are personalized, compliant, and aligned with business objectives. The ideal candidate is incredibly detail-oriented, data-driven, and experienced in audience segmentation, A/B testing, and performance analysis within a regulated environment.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies for both transactional and marketing messages, including payment reminders, approval notifications, account updates, debit card prompts, and reloan promotions

Ensure communications are delivered through the appropriate channel (email, SMS, or print) and at optimal times to maximize engagement and response

Manage customer audience segmentation to deliver targeted, personalized messaging based on customer behavior, lifecycle stage, and business objectives

Utilize dynamic content and personalization techniques to improve relevance and conversion rates

Plan and execute A/B tests to optimize subject lines, messaging, timing, and calls to action

Monitor and analyze performance metrics for high-volume communications, including open rates, click-through rates, conversions, and opt-out rates

Forecast return customer originations and provide insights and recommendations to support growth initiatives

Collaborate closely with the Marketing Coordinator to create clear, compelling, and conversion-focused email and SMS

Partner with Operations, Compliance, Paid Media, and Technology teams to ensure communications meet operational needs, technical requirements, and regulatory standards

Support daily communication sends, including high-volume transactional messaging

Ensure all communications adhere to brand voice, tone, and style guidelines

Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and internal regulatory requirements for consumer communications

Support documentation and review processes as required in a regulated financial services environment

Qualifications

Experience in communications, marketing, or a related field; financial services or short-term lending experience preferred

Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills

Proficiency with email and SMS marketing platforms such as Mailchimp or similar tools

Excellent editing and copywriting skills, with the ability to craft clear, persuasive messages that drive customer action

Strong analytical skills, including experience with forecasting, performance reporting, or predictive modeling

Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams and stakeholders

Fluency in Spanish is a plus

Strong knowledge of email, SMS, and print marketing best practices, including deliverability, list hygiene, subject line optimization, and responsive design

Ability to clearly define campaign requirements that support engagement and conversion goals

Experience ensuring tone, disclosures, and messaging are appropriate for both transactional and promotional communications

Hands‑on experience with segmentation, personalization, and dynamic content strategies
