Technical Writer
to support a mission‑critical DoD program out of
Alexandria, VA.
The
Technical Writer
will be responsible for producing clear, accurate, and compliant documentation for systems, processes and technology initiatives. Responsibilities of the Technical Writer:
Develop and maintain SOPs, user guides, system documentation, and other technical materials Convert SME input into clear, accurate content for both technical and non‑technical audiences Document system requirements, architectures, workflows, and IT processes for modernization and security initiatives Ensure all materials meet federal standards, style guidelines, and Section 508 requirements Create and update templates, document libraries, and version‑controlled repositories Support proposals, reports, briefings, and communication materials for stakeholders Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to document security controls, ATO materials, and compliance artifacts Qualifications of the Technical Writer:
5+ years of technical writing experience Experience working within a federal or government‑contracting environment Strong knowledge of IT concepts, software development, cybersecurity, infrastructure, or cloud technologies Excellent writing, editing, formatting, and communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technical topics Experience supporting federal IT programs (e.g., DHS, DoD, VA, HHS, DOJ, USDA, or similar) Familiarity with NIST frameworks, RMF processes, or federal security documentation Knowledge of Agile methodologies, DevOps environments, or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) Experience with Section 508 compliance and document remediation Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Confluence, etc. Bachelor’s degree in related field Must have an ACTIVE Secret Clearance Compensation of the Technical Writer:
Salary Range: Between $60,000 - $75,000 annually based on years of relevant experience Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, PTO, Paid Holidays, Sick Leave as required by law This job opens for applications on 1/30/2026.
