The Team and Leader Statement: Enterprise IT Leaders (EITL) is an executive-level advisory service that delivers expert insight and guidance tailored to each member's context and most critical initiatives. EITL consists of 7 domains: Applications, Data & Analytics, Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure & Operations, Program & Portfolio Management, Security & Risk, Sourcing & Vendor Management. Gartner’s Executive Partners team comprises global executives who specialize in one domain and equip business leaders with indispensable insights, advice and tools to achieve mission-critical priorities today and build successful organizations of tomorrow.
Job description summary: You will manage a portfolio of 28-30 clients (Enterprise Architecture & Innovation leaders reporting to CIOs) from global Fortune 100–500 organizations. You will deliver value through regular briefings, on-site workshops, roundtables, webinars and Gartner events. You will coach and mentor clients on critical initiatives within the EA space, collaborating with internal Gartner teams such as Sales, Analysts, Client Managers and peers in other EITL domains. This is a client-facing role requiring executive presence and the ability to build trust and deliver value. You will contribute to member retention and regional growth through support of Gartner Sales in prospecting, account planning and value demonstration. This is predominantly a home-based role as an individual contributor with responsibilities including expense reports and meetings.
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of 28-30 clients, typically EA & Innovation leaders reporting to CIOs, from global Fortune 100–500 organizations.
- Deliver value through regular briefings, on-site workshops, roundtables, webinars and participation in Gartner events.
- Coach and mentor clients on critical initiatives within the EA space using Gartner resources and research.
- Collaborate with internal Gartner teams (Sales, Analysts, Client Managers, peers across EITL domains) to ensure value is delivered.
- Maintain a high level of executive presence and the ability to build trust with clients.
- Support member retention and contribute to regional growth through engagement with Gartner Sales for prospecting, account planning and value demonstration.
- Operate as an individual contributor in a predominantly home-based role, handling administrative tasks (e.g., expense reports, meetings).
Essential must-have skills
We’d love to talk to you if you have:
- 15+ years’ experience in an executive EA leadership role (e.g., Chief Enterprise Architect, CTO, Chief Innovation Officer, Chief Technologist, Chief Strategist, Head of Innovation Lab) within a Fortune 500 company.
- Experience in executive-level roles within consulting, sales or customer-facing positions.
- Ability to be viewed as a credible peer by global enterprise clients based on career experience.
- Modern technical skills and subject matter expertise in the following areas:
Enterprise Architecture (EA)
- Building and leading an effective business-outcome-driven EA program
- Business, information, technology and solutions architecture
- Federated EA in larger organizations
- EA governance
- EA in a highly outsourced IT structure
- Cloud architecture
- Architecting platforms (e.g., Amazon, eBay, Uber) as business-enabling platforms
Innovation Leadership/Management
- Creating a culture of innovation
- Funding – internal or external VC
- Ideation, transfer & incubation
- Prototypes & pilots
- Technology tracking, scenario planning, horizon scanning
- Innovation metrics and maturity – measuring innovation effectiveness and business impact
- Innovation frameworks
- Business & reverse innovation

- Business, social and technology trends and their creative application to create business advantage
- Industry impacts, breadth of application and non-adoption risk
- Product development life cycle
Digital Business / Government, Transformation, Strategic Planning

- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree required
