
Overview
Blood Cancer United seeks to enable patients with blood cancer to gain more than one million years of life by 2040. The Region Executive Director leads regional growth and executes organizational strategy, with strong leadership in mission, culture, inclusion, financial oversight, operations, employee lifecycle management, and volunteer leadership in designated markets.
Responsibilities
- Mission, Culture & Inclusion – Promote the mission in designated markets; partner with teams to communicate mission, programs, resources, and priorities; drive inclusive and equitable regional strategy; manage regional revenue and P&L and implement financial controls; conduct annual strategic planning; oversee region-wide peer-to-peer fundraising; optimize revenue through business development and major gifts.
- Operations Management – Implement regional business plans and standards (contracts, procurement, events, communications, technology use, business continuity, risk management); oversee market-specific brand-aligned events and initiatives.
- Employee Lifecycle Management – Lead planning, acquisition, engagement, and development of staff; coach regional leaders in sales, fundraising, volunteer leadership, and business development; lead succession planning and internal mobility to build leadership bench.
- Volunteer Leadership and Management – Provide leadership for staff and volunteer leaders; develop local volunteer leaders as brand ambassadors; lead and manage Regional Boards.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- 10+ years of progressively responsible related experience with a minimum of 3 years in senior management
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Demonstrated knowledge and use of digital, social media & emerging online channels

- 35-hour work week
- Local travel approximately 50%–75% of the time
