Overview
The Director, Imaging IT Innovation will play a key role in advancing AI by the clinical translation of research discoveries, including artificial intelligence (AI) applications, into routine clinical radiology practice and education. This position will support the development and implementation of education and research platforms that integrate with clinical operations, such as systems for education file management, data curation, and anonymization. The position will collaborate closely with the Department Chair and Vice-Chair for Research to lead the department's Center for Intelligent Imaging in promoting translational initiatives and will partner with the Director for Clinical Analytics to enhance data-driven approaches that strengthen clinical care, education, and scientific productivity across the department. The position will provide strategic partnership to the department leadership to complete clinically focused research projects and contribute to departmental strategy to advance imaging research integration, clinical excellence, and digital innovation in an academic setting.
Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to advanced computational, computer science, data science, and CI software research and development efforts related to medium to large projects with broad scope and complexities.
- Design, develop, and optimize components/tools for major HPC / data science / CI projects; resolve complex research and technology development and integration issues.
- Deliver technical presentations to associated research and technology groups and management; evaluate new hardware and software technologies for advancing HPC, data science, and CI projects.
- Represent the organization as part of a team at national and international meetings, conferences, and committees as appropriate.
- Assist in the design and recommendation of new hardware and software technologies for advancing HPC, data science, and CI projects; may lead a team of research and technical staff.
Compensation and Benefits
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range depends on work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $121,900 - $277,100 (Annual Rate).
