We are seeking a hands-on Director of IT & Security to own and operate our internal technology and security environment.
This role is responsible for the reliability, security, and scalability of the company’s IT systems. The ideal candidate is a pragmatic operator who has run real environments , managed vendors and MSPs, improved security posture, and partnered with leadership — not a purely strategic or advisory technologist.
This is a senior, highly visible role with direct accountability for IT operations and security outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the company’s IT infrastructure and security posture end-to-end
- Manage internal systems, networks, endpoints, cloud services, and access controls
- Serve as the primary owner of cybersecurity hygiene , risk identification, and remediation
- Manage and hold accountable external vendors, MSPs, and security providers
- Establish and enforce IT standards, documentation, and operating procedures
- Ensure high system availability, reliability, and user experience
- Partner with leadership on IT strategy, systems evolution, and risk management
- Support compliance, audit, and security initiatives as needed
- Lead incident response and remediation when issues arise
What We’re Looking For
- 8–15 years of experience in IT Operations, Infrastructure, or Security leadership
- Prior ownership of an internal IT environment (not advisory-only)
- Strong understanding of infrastructure, identity, security, and vendor management
- Experience balancing hands-on execution with leadership accountability
- Comfortable operating in regulated or security-conscious environments
- Practical, calm, and decisive under pressure
