We're seeking an experienced CREO Mechanical Design Engineer who can hit the ground running on complex hardware. You'll own end-to-end mechanical design—from concept through detailed modeling, drawings, prototyping support, and release—collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, build-focused environment.
Create and manage parametric 3D models and fully defined 2D drawings in PTC Creo (complex assemblies, GD&T, tolerances, and BOMs).
Drive design from requirements to release: concepts, trade studies, DFM/DFA, tolerance stacks, ECOs, and configuration control.
Execute design changes rapidly based on test findings, supplier feedback, and manufacturing input.
Partner with manufacturing, suppliers, and test to resolve fit/form/function issues and support first-article builds.
Maintain data integrity in PLM/PDM (e.g., Windchill) with clean revision history, release workflows, and part libraries.
Apply GD&T per ASME Y14.5, materials selection, finishes, and fastener standards.
Prepare design documentation: spec sheets, layouts, exploded views, and assembly instructions.
2000+ recent hours
(last role, last 12–24 months) of
hands-on PTC Creo
design—please highlight projects and dates to verify recency. 5+ years professional mechanical design experience (high-mix assemblies, tight tolerances, or complex mechanisms). Proven strength in
GD&T, tolerance analysis, and detailed drawing packages
ready for fabrication. Demonstrated
DFM/DFA
with machined, sheet-metal, cast, and additive components; vendor collaboration experience. PLM/PDM proficiency ( Windchill
strongly preferred) and disciplined change control/ECO practices. Ability to start quickly and own deliverables with minimal ramp. Nice to have
Experience in aerospace/defense, energy hardware, robotics, or automotive environments. Static/dynamic FEA familiarity (Creo Simulate, Ansys) and test correlation. Knowledge of AS9100/ISO documentation, configuration management, and PPAP/FAI processes. Materials expertise (aluminum, stainless, titanium, composites, polymers) and coatings/finishes. Basic scripting/automation in Creo or model-based definition (MBD). Onsite: Huntsville or Los Angeles. Virtual/Hybrid: Considered for senior designers with proven remote delivery; periodic travel for builds or supplier visits may be required. Education
BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience with a strong portfolio).
