Create news stories for the ABC
Base salary $72K to $78K+15.4% ABC Nominated Super.
The Role ABC News is looking for a Reporter to join our Great Southern WA team. In this role, you will create compelling multi-platform content that reflects the diversity of the region and contributes to the ABC’s trusted news coverage nationally. Based in our Albany bureau, you’ll collaborate with a supportive and experienced team committed to delivering high-impact journalism.
The Job
Produce news bulletins, Q&As, interviews and packages across all platforms, including breaking news.
Pitch, plan and create original story ideas that engage both local and national audiences.
Actively engage with communities to source authentic and diverse content.
Contribute to local emergency coverage plans and liaise with stakeholders as required.
Identify regional content opportunities to be shared across ABC programs and platforms.
You are an accomplished storyteller with strong editorial judgement and a passion for serving regional communities.
You'll have
Demonstrated experience in content creation and live broadcast presentation.
Strong editorial, research and analytical skills.
A deep understanding of local issues and an ability to connect with diverse communities.
