
Overview
The Relationship Banker is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, building and maintaining strong customer relationships, and supporting branch growth through effective sales and service activities. This role focuses on opening and servicing accounts, promoting bank products and services, and ensuring a positive customer experience. The ideal candidate brings prior experience in teller operations and account opening, along with a strong commitment to accuracy, compliance, and community engagement. Responsibilities
Customer Service & Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers Provide exceptional customer service while resolving inquiries, concerns, and account issues Promote customer loyalty through proactive outreach and follow-up Account Opening & Retail Banking Services
Open and service consumer and small business accounts, including checking, savings, CDs, and IRAs Explain account features, fees, digital banking tools, and bank policies to customers Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with all regulatory and internal requirements (CIP, BSA, AML, OFAC, etc.) Maintain a strong understanding of bank products, services, and promotions Sales & Business Development
Identify cross-sell opportunities and refer customers to mortgage, lending, and other products as appropriate Participate in local networking and community activities to support branch growth Teller & Transaction Support
Perform teller transactions accurately and efficiently as needed (deposits, withdrawals, payments, cash handling) Balance cash drawer and maintain accuracy in accordance with bank policy Support branch operations during peak times or staffing shortages Compliance, Risk & Operations
Adhere to all bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements Protect customer confidentiality and mitigate fraud and risk Maintain accurate records and documentation Participate in audits, training, and continuing education as required All other duties as assigned. Requirements
Working Conditions
Full-time position, Monday-Thursday, 8:00am-4:30pm C.T. with a 30-minute lunch break. Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm C.T. with a 1-hour lunch break. This position may involve work outside of the standard schedule including, but not limited to, assisting customers, completing tasks or assignments, work-related events, etc. 100% in-office position. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Professional attire required. Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework or degree in business or finance preferred. 3-5 years of banking experience, including teller operations and account opening. Sales mindset with ability to identify customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions. Strong knowledge of retail banking products, services, and regulations Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Proficiency with computers, standard office software, and core banking systems, experience with Jack Henry a plus but not required. Accuracy, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.
