Overview
Leading Freight Forwarder / NVOCC/ Customs House Broker/Tank Container Operator, with locations in 24 countries and over 3300 employees strong is seeking a Strategic Account Manager to be based out of Jersey City, NJ office. We are seeking an experienced individual to lead LLP and export freight forwarding operations for a strategic, high-profile customer account. This role owns the end-to-end performance of U.S. export operations, ensuring seamless execution, regulatory compliance, cost control, and exceptional customer experience. You will act as the primary operational leader for the account, partnering closely with the customer, global service centers, and internal teams to deliver against agreed service blueprints and performance targets. Lead and optimize LLP and export freight forwarding operations, ensuring consistent, compliant, and high-quality execution Own day-to-day operational performance for the account, with full accountability for service levels, profitability, and continuous improvement Translate customer blueprints and contractual commitments into scalable, repeatable operating processes Drive cost-out initiatives, productivity improvements, and data-driven decision making. Ensure timely shipment execution, exception management, deviation tracking, and accurate, on-time billing Maintain full compliance with U.S. export regulations, FMC and NVOCC requirements, ISO 9001/14001, and C-TPAT standards Serve as a trusted operational partner to the customer through proactive communication, issue resolution, and performance reviews Lead, coach, and develop on-site and shared-service teams, building capability in export operations, LLP execution, systems, and data management Prepare and deliver operational, quality, and customer reporting; communicate regulatory or process changes as needed Partner with Finance and Accounting to resolve AR/AP issues and protect account profitability Your Profile
What Success Looks Like High customer satisfaction and contract compliance across all export and LLP activities On-time, error-free shipment execution and billing Measurable cost savings and process improvements year over year Strong audit outcomes and sustained regulatory compliance Engaged, high-performing teams with clear accountability and development paths What You Bring Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience 4+ years of experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or LLP operations, with proven leadership responsibility Strong working knowledge of export operations, Incoterms, NVOCC concepts, and U.S. export regulations Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage complex accounts, and drive operational excellence Analytical mindset with the ability to turn data into actionable insights.
