Description
Nature & scope
Assist residents at our community with dining services. Will assist in the dining room serving meals and drinks, bussing and wiping tables, wash dishes, restock table caddies, or monitor guest and resident requests for different services we offer.
Essential functions
Dining room aid must assist and serve all residents their meals and drinks in a professional manner and assist residents to their seats in the dining room as needed
Must keep floors, tables, and countertops clean
Must complete all work on the dining room checklist including
o Make Coffee, Tea, and any needed Juices
o Fill Ice Bin as needed
o Fill and wipe syrup bottles
o Bus and wipe tables as they empty
o Assist with dishes as needed
o Cut and dish desserts
o Sweep under tables after each meal
o Restock all table caddies (creamer, sugar, sweetener, jelly)
o Restock all items in your area (dressings, milk, juice, etc.)
Check that tables & chairs are in proper place
Check and roll silverware if needed
Check Conference Room
Change table cloths if soiled
Check the coffee bar and water drawers (Fireside lounge) stock as needed
Wrap and date all dessert leftovers
Wipe & Sanitize all counters in your area
Wipe outside of cabinet doors, and reach in fridge (inside and out)
Be sure the Resident Meal Check List is complete for each meal
Empty dirty napkins into large bin in storage closet
Wash/Dry/Fold/Put Away Green Towels as needed (Don't wait until you're out please)
Empty the Juice machine reservoir, rinse & wipe dry
Empty Trash located by ice bin (under the counter)
EVENINGS: Put the next day table cards, chronicle, & puzzle pages on each table.
Every table should have at least 2 copies of the Daily Chronicle (except the tables by the windows)
Make sure all cleaning buckets and bus tubs have been run thru the dish machine at the end of the night.
When all dishes are done and put away, drain dish machine.
Remove, Rinse, and Replace the baskets inside Dish Machine.
Wash Dish area counters, and squeegee them dry.
Dining Room aid must assist kitchen manager as needed (put truck away)

Answers phones in a polite manner, greeting the caller, giving your name and asking what you can do for the caller
Shows concern for customers by listening closely, apologizes for any problems, is supportive and makes sure everyone feels appreciated and valued
Provides service always identifying yourself and explaining what you are doing
Respects resident privacy, only shares information on an as needed basis and always knocks on resident's door before entering
Represents the organization and coworkers in a positive light to residents, family members and other customers.
