Maximize opportunities for the product portfolio in a single layer geography by developing and maintaining strategic business relationships with Hospitals, IDNs, Academic Institutions, Outpatient Accounts, Long Term Care Facilities, Government Accounts, and Specialty Private Practice. Increase patient access to portfolio products, align with approved labels, develop new business, expand current business, maximize resource utilization, and achieve geography sales goals through a solution oriented and collaborative approach. Advance hospital and specialty customers along the sales continuum and gain prescriber commitments through effective questioning, active listening, and use of approved data and resources. Deliver on-label presentations to highlight benefits and risks and address gaps in therapeutic areas to drive sales. Develop professional relationships and differentiate the Anti-Infective portfolios value proposition at all levels (C-Suite, Physicians, Hospital Staff, Support Personnel) to expand product usage within accounts and departments. Understand and problem-solve product and patient flow through Specialty Pharmacy, Specialty Distribution, and Buy and Bill channels. Coordinate and mobilize key stakeholders across multiple departments to align patient-focused solutions. Operate effectively in a complex, matrixed, account-based selling environment, partnering with AbbVie in-field and in-house teams to design and adapt approaches and tactics. Create, develop, execute, and monitor strategic geography business plans. Determine appropriate department, channel, HCP focus and frequency by account to meet sales objectives; align resources and adjust as needed. Source, interpret, and utilize key data by account to develop and maintain working account profiles and relationship maps to maximize call continuum and communication. Target key stakeholders and decision makers within each hospital/institution/outpatient setting to expand physician usage and the customer base. Attend and participate in local boards, societies, conventions, and other HCP meetings when appropriate. Represent AbbVie and assigned products, build relationships, and channel information to internal partners; ensure communications in these forums are on-label. Complete all AbbVie required training and maintain adherence to company policies and OEC/Legal procedures. Meet HCIR credentialing requirements to gain entry into facilities and organizations in the assigned territory. Collaborate across multiple departments within healthcare institutions and across organizations. Work with cross-functional partners to develop processes within the account base and with Medical Science Liaisons to develop compliant communication strategies. This role is field-based and candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city. The geography covers St. Louis and the Western portion of Missouri. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred, or relevant and equivalent industry experience. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, at least five (5) years of relevant experience, with three (3) or more years in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry, and a high school diploma/GED required. Account-based selling experience (Hospitals, Wound Care Centers, or Infusion Centers) and experience building advocacy in hospitals, with or without a formulary win, for acute products. Experience navigating the matrix environment within IDNs, Academic Institutions, Hospitals, and Outpatient accounts. Knowledge of formulary approval processes and driving formulary approvals. Experience with Buy and Bill and specialty pharmacy products is preferred. Documented history of strong sales performance, top performer in a challenging market, with the ability to communicate complex products and processes clearly, overcome concerns, advance sales, and work well as part of a team. Strong business acumen and the ability to own and manage sales geography, multitask effectively, analyze data, and define account/program strategies that drive results. Strong planning, organization, and presentation skills; ability to learn procedural, technical, and clinical information quickly and to present complex scientific information to diverse audiences. Influences others credibly and builds collaborative partnerships; demonstrates positive behaviors and peer coaching in changing environments and can fully cover the assigned geography. Must satisfy all applicable HCIR credentialing requirements to gain and maintain entry into facilities and organizations in the assigned territory; must be in good standing and eligible to obtain these credentials. HCIR credentialing may include background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination proof, fingerprinting, and state/city-specific licenses. The compensation range described is the range of possible base pay for this role at the time of posting, based on job grade and geographic location; actual pay may vary and the range may be modified in the future. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k) to eligible employees. This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs. Note: No amount of pay is wages or compensation until earned and determinable.
