Director Of Golf – Position Overview The Director of Golf (DOG) is the “golf ambassador” and a visible, engaged senior manager responsible for strategic vision, day‑to‑day operation, culture, and member experience across two championship courses.

Key Responsibilities Of The New Director Of Golf

Provide strategic and operational leadership over all golf functions, including staffing, service standards, merchandising, and event execution.

Cultivate a culture of hospitality, respect, and cross‑department collaboration.

Ensure equal leadership presence and support for both the Meadow and Canyon courses.

Develop and enhance the junior golf program and employer awareness program.

Lead all aspects of merchandise operations, including buying, inventory control, pricing, and shop presentation.

Promote a workplace culture grounded in integrity, growth, and service.

Oversee a comprehensive calendar of events and tournament program for golfers of all abilities.

Attract, develop, motivate, and retain a high‑performance team of professionals.

Candidate Qualifications

Verifiable record of private club leadership, board participation, and partnership with a General Manager/COO.

Experience in high member satisfaction operations across national clubs.

Strong golf community network, locally and nationally.

Exceptional communication skills with members and staff.

Track record of progressive leadership and golf management experience.

Educational And Certification Qualifications

Preferred bachelor’s degree in business administration or golf management; not required.

Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in private club golf operations.

A PGA/LPGA certification with a minimum of 3 years of head professional or director of golf experience.

Salary And Benefits Salary is open and commensurate with qualifications and experience. The club offers an excellent bonus and benefits package, including professional dues, education expenses for PGA members, and association membership.
