Overview

The Chicago White Sox seek a highly motivated and energetic individual to join our Community Relations team. This role supports and acts as a point of contact for external Community Relations initiatives and activations. You will collaborate with players and their families to identify and support their preferred outreach programs and function as liaison for our wives’ program. The ideal candidate will be creative, coachable, and detail-oriented with a high degree of professionalism. Responsibilities

Player Relations Coordinator

Assist in the development of outreach programs/opportunities based on the interests of individual players. Coordinate player outreach initiatives (hospital visits, clinics, etc.).

Player family’s liaison

Foster strong relationships with the families of Chicago White Sox players. Coordinate wives’ activities including Family Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Baby and Bridal Showers, and Welcome Brunch. Available to assist player families during games including nights and weekends.

Main point of contact for childcare staff; oversee day-to-day processes for childcare staff

Ordering supplies, etc.

Manage Community Relations inventory as it relates to autographed memorabilia and promotional items. Source and order promotional items for community gift bags, special guests, and general inventory. Schedule Speakers Bureau engagement opportunities

Serve as day-to-day contact. Maintain updated schedules and records of appearances. Process payments and reimbursements as it relates to appearances.

@soxcharities social media

Idea generation for community relations focused content. Execution for all community relations content including writing, photo editing and posting. Execute @soxcharities social contests. Work as a team to plan and execute social media calendar.

Sox Give – Internal Employee Program

Develop and execute monthly staff outreach opportunities throughout Chicago. Attend events as the lead volunteer.

Assist with the planning of holiday activations for the club. Execute VIP experiences at the ballpark. Assist with all Community Relations initiatives including SoxFest and attending community events on behalf of the team. Qualifications

College Degree: Concentration in Marketing or Communications preferred. 2+ years of full-time experience in Community Relations; sports-related experience is a plus. Bi-lingual, with the ability to speak and write in Spanish. The ability to work nights and weekends as dictated by the home baseball schedule. Exceptional writing and proofreading skills. Must be a team player with the ability to collaborate on projects with a variety of internal departments and external partners at all levels. Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to present ideas and information clearly. Ability to multi-task and oversee a wide variety of projects at the same time. Excellent organizational skills. Must have advanced computer skills (Word, Excel & PowerPoint, etc.). Knowledge of White Sox baseball is a plus. Compensation
