Manufacturing Quality Improvement Work Includes

Creating and implementing quality management programs focused on continuous improvement of manufacturing-related business systems from the customers’ point of view

Identifying and monitoring customer and employee feedback loops regarding the effectiveness of manufacturing-related business systems and processes

Encouraging broad-based employee engagement to gather information and implement changes at every level in the organization; A Senior Professional (P3) applies advanced knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience.

Responsibilities May Include

Managing projects / processes, working independently with limited supervision.

Coaching and reviewing the work of lower-level professionals.

Problems faced are difficult and sometimes complex.

Summary Highly motivated and self-directed individual. Works closely with employees at all levels of the organization teaching, coaching, and mentoring to drive a culture of continuous improvement and problem solving utilizing the lean and six sigma tools and methodologies. Positively leads change and improvement towards strategic objectives through facilitation and training of teams and individuals. Monitors teams’ progress and supports as necessary to drive project implementation and sustainability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Works with Continuous Improvement Lead (CI Lead) to set goals based on customer and business needs.

Equips employees with the tools and knowledge to drive improvement throughout.

Must be able to manage and interact effectively with diverse groups and personalities.

Must have proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Must have strong written and presentation skills.

Coordinates mapping of value streams in order to develop improvement targets.

Directs continual improvement team efforts.

Facilitates team meetings and kaizen events.

Supports and positively drives 5S improvements.

Provides training/education to associates at all levels.

Consults with suppliers and customers as needed to achieve goals.

Motivates and mentors others in continuous improvement culture.

Inspires a culture of change and improvement.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directs, coaches, and empowers employees at all levels to solve problems and make improvements at their level.

Education And/or Experience

Minimum two years’ experience in Operations Management or equivalent.

Language Skills

Strong communication skills (Bilingual: English/Spanish a plus). Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should be a proficient user of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Power Point. Additional computer skills a plus.
