Responsibilities
Verify patient prescription benefits, ensuring accurate billing and reimbursement for medical and pharmacy coverage
Investigate authorization requirements for medications and collaborate with healthcare providers and insurance companies
Determine patient eligibility for copay card assistance programs and facilitate enrollment as needed
Perform all Benefit Investigation functions, providing thorough, accurate, and timely responses to requests
Maintain knowledge of pharmacy terminology, including sig codes and brand/generic medication names
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED, or licensed/registered pharmacy technician, or previous experience in pharmacy
Minimum of 1 year of pharmacy experience
Knowledge of pharmacy or healthcare-related practices
Understanding of pharmacy terminology including sig codes and Roman numerals
Basic math and analytical skills along with intermediate typing/keyboard skills
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting
